Vacation Cabin Rental Rates and Seasons

One cabin is available for rent on a 6 acre lakeshore property. The owners live in a house on the same property. Rental is year round. Rental rate is $85 per day April - November and $100 per day December - March.

Accommodation Details

Wolf Lake Cabin features a stone fireplace, large deck overlooking Wolf Lake, screened gazebo by the lake, private road, and bunk house for kids or extra guests. The cabin also has heat, VCR, DVD player and radio.

The cabin sleeps 6 and has 2 or 3 bedrooms and a modern bath. The kitchen has a range, refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, toaster, waffle iron, dishes, and pots and pans. Linens and towels are provided.

The lakefront property has a dock, barbecue grill, and fire pit. A canoe, boat and motor are provided. Renters pay for boat gas used.

Pets are welcome. No smoking in the cabins. The house is not handicapped accessible.

Surroundings

The 6 acre property has 640 ft of lakeshore. The cabin sits among mature birch and spruce trees with a cliff where bald eagles nest rising behind it to the north. The cabin faces south/southwest and looks over the lake to forested cliffs on the opposite shore.

Many large lakes in the area include Vermillion, Burntside, Shagawa, Fall and White Iron. Golf, hiking, bicycling, snowmobiling, downhill and cross-country skiing, canoeing, fishing, and hunting areas are nearby.

Ely is the gateway to the BWCAW and is the home of the International Wolf Center, Bear Center, Dorothy Molter Museum, Ely-Winton Historical Society Museum, Soudan Underground State Park, Vermillion Community College, Jim Brandenburg Gallery and many other destinations. Ely has many unique shops and excellent restaurants. The snowmobile trails and cross country ski trails are magnificent in winter. Wildlife abounds in the area.

Many people enter the BWCAW from Ely. Several outfitters supply canoe campers. The property owners can provide before and after trip accommodations plus store your car and gear while you are in the BWCAW.

The Walleye fishing opener in May, the Blueberry Festival in late July, the Boundary Waters Blues Festival in August, and the Harvest Moon Festival in September are big attractions. Nothing beats the autumn color and crisp cool nights by the fire pit or in front of our stone fireplace. There are many opportunities for kids to learn, play and relax.

Wolf Lake covers 300 acres and has a water depth of 60 feet. Fish include Smallmouth bass, Northern pike, Walleye, sunfish, and crappies.
