Cottage rental rates and seasons

The Houghton Lake Michigan vacation resort in Prudenville is open this year in May. Rental rates for the cottages are $350 for number 5 and $400 for number 6 per week plus a 6% sales tax. We prefer to rent the cottages from Saturday to Saturday. Daily rates are $49 for cottage 5 and $59 for cottage 6 with a two day minimum.

A 50% deposit is required to reserve the cottages. Personal check, money orders or cash only. No credit cards please. Check in time is 1 PM and check out time is 10 AM. The mailing address is Breyer's Resort, P. O. Box 334, 117 4th Street, Prudenville, MI 48651.

Accommodation details

The lakeside resort has 2 cottages total, of which, one overlooks the lake. The other cottages is beside the other cottage in the photo. Each cottage is equipped with pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Linens are provided for each cottage. Please bring your own towels and wash cloths. We do provide cable TV.

Cottages 5 and 6 are 1 bedroom each, 400 sq. ft. of living area.

The resort has a covered patio overlooking the lake, which is shared by the rest of the guests where you can sit and enjoy the sunsets. The patio has two gas cooking grills. There are picnic tables and lawn furniture. We also have a fire pit by the lake. Campfire wood can be purchased nearby at convenience stores. Quiet time is 11 P M. The resort is not handicap accessible. We will accept pets at $10.00 per day extra.

Surroundings

The resort is quiet and on a small hill overlooking Houghton Lake. The property has 80 feet of frontage. There is a dock for small boats

Houghton Lake covers approximately 22,000 acres and is the largest inland lake in Michigan. Maximum depth is about 22 feet. Water depth in front of the resort goes from a few inches to approximately 2 1/2 feet at the end of the dock, which is about 50 feet from shore. The public beach with a children's playground is on the lake one block over from the resort.

Additional information

Boats and motors for fishing, jet ski, ski boat and pontoon rentals are available from a few blocks away to 5 miles away and can be driven from rental site to our resort. For other recreation there are plenty of 18 hole golf courses close by. You can also fish, swim, water ski, play tennis, cycle, play miniature golf or go for a quiet hike in the woods. You can fish for walleye, northern pike, perch, bluegill and bass. There are baseball fields and an arcade with a go cart track. You can also canoe the famous Au Sable River. A variety of other rivers are relatively close, including the Pine, Manistee and Rifle River. The Merritt Speedway, with stock car races is about 15 miles from the resort. Restaurants, cocktail lounges, grocery stores and gift shops are only a short walking distance away. The Dairy Queen and Marv and Di's Pressure Crack Lounge are 1 block away.
