Vacation Cottage Rental Rates and Seasons

The Michigan vacation getaway cottage is available for rent all year. Rental rates are:

Accommodation Details

The large cottage has 3 bedrooms/2 baths and sleeps 8.  The small cottage has 1 huge bedroom/1 bath and sleeps 6 with the sofa bed. Both cottages have heat, cable TV, a large picnic table on the patio, and a fully equipped kitchen with coffee makers, microwaves, dishwashers, dishes, and pots and pans. The large cottage has a brick fireplace, washer/dryer, telephone, and a gas grill on the patio.

Kitchen, hand towels, and linens are provided. Please bring beach and bath towels.

A boat is provided for guest use.

The cottages have been in the family since 1958. My parents bought one and my grand parents the other. The smaller, 1BA/1BA, cottage was rebuilt 30 years ago.

Pets and smoking are not allowed. The house is not handicapped accessible.

Surroundings

The two cottages are on two wooded lots with over 100 feet of lake frontage between them. Water recreation includes swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and water skiing. Other nearby recreation includes golf, tennis, hiking, and bicycling.

The lake provides the best swimming in the area. The lake frontage is 25% occupied by a non-working farm, limiting access so the lake is never crowded. A Public landing is on the other side of the lake for boat launching.

There are several golf courses, wineries and U-pick farms within a 20 minute drive. One of the largest blueberry farms in the state is a mile away. The wineries offer free tours and the golf courses are fun to play and reasonably priced.

Lake Brownwood covers 200 acres and has a water depth of 90 feet. Motors are allowed. Fish include blue gill, sunfish, perch, and bass.
