Accommodation Details

Snuggled deep in the Osceola Forest amongst the Ponderosa Pines, about ten miles east of Lake City, Florida, sits Sharon's Cabin In The Woods.

This 2 bedroom, 2 bath cedar cabin is fully furnished, including all furniture, kitchen pots, pans, dishes, linens, sheets, and towels. All you need to bring is your clothes. The cabin has heat and air conditioning, a huge fireplace, washer/dryer, 32 inch satellite TV, stereo, DVD/CD player, high speed internet, and phone for local calls only.

The cabin has sleeping accommodations for up to 4 people, with 1 queen bed, and 1 trundle bed (A trundle is a twin that has a mattress underneath that pulls out to sleep 2).

The most important thing this cabin provides is peace and relaxation. Deer visit twice a day (except in hunting season) racoon, armillo and lots of birds frequent the yard.

The property has a barbecue grill and picnic table.

Pets with prior approval only (sometimes there may be a charge). Smoking is outside only. The house is not handicapped accessible.

Surroundings

The cabin is remote and quiet, and the property is wooded. It is located deep in what is known as Osceola Estates, a small country community of about 45 homes that sit in a niche that is carved out of the Osceola National Forest.

Like to fish? The cabin is within minutes of several lakes that are great for fishing (trout, mudfish, perch). Like to hike, bird-watch, or just explore the forest? Historical trails wind all through the forest right behind the cabin. Ocean Pond is minutes away, a great place for swimming, skiing and fishing.

Nearby recreation also includes bicycling, horseback riding, birding, and hunting.

Olustee Battlefield, where one of the most renown battles of the Civil War occurred, is just minutes away and offers a well known reenactment every February that people come from all over for.

From the reading corner, have coffee, watch the sunrise and watch for regular visitors from the forest, including deer, rabbit, raccoon, hawks, egret and more.
