Rowleys Bay was originally an old lumber and fishing settlement on the Great Lakes. Father Andre, a French explorer, landed by boat in late 1600's and erected an alter. | |

A lot of the limber used to rebuild Chicago after the fire of 1871 came from this area. The coastline is full of cedar trees. |
