Bozeman is a mountain-town with about 35,000 residents and many parks and attractions. | |
Bozeman has truly come into it's own over the last 10 years growing from a small college town into a modern upscale community with many of the amenities that vacationers expect. There are an abundance of fine restaurants, fast foods, and smokeless bars. | |
The area offers a vast array of outdoor activities including hiking in three mountain ranges, blue ribbon trout stream fishing (location of Robert Redford's film, "A River Runs Through It"), horseback riding, mountain biking, canoeing, whitewater rafting and both cross-country and downhill skiing areas. | |
Many trails, waterfalls, and lakes are within a 10 to 30 minute drive. Ski resorts are about an hour away. | |
Nearby are Yellowstone National Park (about a 1½ hours south), and Glacier National Park (about a 5-hour drive to the north). | |
About 16 miles northeast of Bozeman is Bridger Canyon and Bridger Bowl Ski Area with great Rocky Mountain skiing. | |
Bozeman is the home of Montana State University with it's 10,000 plus student body. The largest university in Montana it provides all the cultural events normally associated with a university. These include: theatre, music, sports, lectures, events and much more. | |
There are a variety of entertainment options available including: three stage theaters and 10 movie screens, bowling, comedy, billiards, museums, a planetarium, and art galleries. | |
The downtown has kept it's vibrancy and charm and offers fine restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops, specialty stores for every taste and fashion. A stroll through Bozeman's downtown is certainly a must for those that have the time. | |
There are many shopping choices including Gallatin Valley Mall, CostCo, and several other franchises as well as smaller shops for the more discreet at heart. |
