Benton is in western Kentucky, in Marshall County. It is a great family vacation area.


Kentucky Lake has approximately 400 miles of shoreline. Fish include small and large mouth bass, crappie, sauger, rockfish, catfish, and bluegill. Topographical fishing maps and fishing guide service are available.


Nearby is Hickory Hill, Kentucky Dam, and the Ohio and Mississippi rivers.


Between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley is The Land Between the Lakes, a 16,000-acre forest and wildlife preserve.


Also nearby are the Woodlands Nature Center, the Planetarium, Home Place (an 1850's working farm), and many other attractions.


Many fine restaurants specializing in catfish and other seafood, barbecue pork and ribs, steak, prime rib, and family-style Kentucky home cooking are close by.


Some nearby seasonal activities include sailing regattas, power boat racing, arts and crafts fair, festivals such as Tater Day, Big Singing, Hardin Day, Aurora Country Festival, Quilt Show, and many more.
